Inspired by my artist father, I started painting at an early age. After retirement in the mid 90's I moved from the Lower Mainland to the Okanagan, where I took up painting in earnest. Although basically self-taught, I joined an artist group in Naramata and took a number of art classes and workshops with well known artists and dedicated my time to painting. I have exhibited my paintings in Art Galleries, wineries and other art events. When I moved back to Richmond in 2006, I joined the Richmond Artist Guild and the Riverside Art Circle and enjoy painting with and learning from my fellow artists. I continue taking workshops through the Federation of Canadian Artists, of which I have been an active member for a number of years.
Through my travels around the world, I have been inspired by the different cultures, their people, architecture and landscapes and try to capture my experiences in my paintings. I work in a variety of mediums, such as oils, acrylics, watercolour and soft pastels and take particular interest in painting portraits and the human figure.
